To integrate and survive in the USA, Anas has to sustain his family with menial labor all day long. His only escape is to learn English in what little time he has so that he can pursue his career of 20 years, construction. Anas' six children have to trek thirty minutes to school every day. Some haven't had formal education for three years. Meanwhile, the entire family has to fast during the month of Ramadan, making even the smallest obstacles a struggle. Can they find a true home through these challenges? The Pursuit of Refuge is a human journey that all embark on, no matter who they are. The story follows a nuclear waster manager (acted by Adam Gibbins) and his only friend, a robot named ED (voiced by Zachary Peek), on their mission to lean the wastelands. However, their trial is picked up by a group of looters, led by a notorious warlord (acted by Anthony Giovanni Elias). The duo’s chances of survival fall into each other's hands.
